A lovely Georgian Pewter funnel, probably used in the process of decanting spirits, Port or wine. Simple in design, it has acres of charm and character and if it could talk would definately tell an interesting story. In wonderful condition but with lots of dings, dents and minor splits to the rim, that it has collected on its long journey. I am unable to find a makers mark.
It shows a beautiful grey lustre, cleverly it has a small, intermediate gauze bowl for collecting sediment etc. lower down the tapered pipe there is a small raised area with a split, presumably where it has been exposed to frost at some point.
A characterful addition to any collection and ready for display. A lovely item from my own collection.
Standing 7 inches or 175 mm tall. 5inches or 125mm bowl diameter.
UK delivery is included in the price. Collection from Derby welcome.
