A rare oportunity to aquire a beautiful Foster and Pearson Victorian brass door latch. and Serpentine handle. Although un-marked by the manufacturer, I personally removed the latch and handle set from a demolished F and P Greenhouse some years ago. In wonderful un-polished condition it moves freely as it should. It comes complete with all of its compomnent parts pictured, but minus the fixing screws. It is as good as the day it was made and ready for re-fitting. It would polish up to a bright golden finish if required.
Foster and Pearson were based in Beeston Nottinghamhire around 1850 and were one of Europes leading garden building manufacturers. Testimony to the their quality and high standards of manufacture many of their structurers are still in use to this day on important country estates such as Chatsworth in Derbyshire.
Measuring approx, Latch: 9 x 4 inches or 225 x 100mm. Handle: 150 x 100mm or 6 x 4 inches.
UK shipping is included in the price. Collection from Derby is welcome.
