This is a beautifully made cast Iron plaque depicting a scene from The Good Samaritan. Skillfully crafted by the historic Buderus casting firm of Germany, which has a history dating back to the 1700s, it is manufactured out of cast iron with the unique industrial style of renowned artist Thomae. The piece is cast in relief with sharp detail and a very attractive matte lustre. There are some tiny patches of very slight discolouration, but this doesn't detract from its powerful presence when on display.
Hung from an integral steel loop to the reverse. Various manufacturers' stamps and marks add to its authenticity. Dated 1972.
It's a lovely item from my collection.
