A large Cornishware blue and white mixing bowl. Bearing the green shield mark, which denotes that this jug was manufactured between 1930 and 1960 in the tiny village of Castle Gresley, Derbyshire. This lovely functional piece has a wonderful form of great proportions, with two grip handles to the sides of the rim. It is in lovely original condition: free from chips, cracks, damage, or repairs. It is also free from crazing or heat damage, which is often seen on this type of bowl.
There are just very light usage marks on the glaze on the bottom mixing surface, almost impossible to see, and a tiny blemish on the internal glaze that looks to have been present during manufacture (shown in picture 3).
It is by far the best early mixing bowl I have seen, I have it sitting on a sunny windowsill where it looks wonderful!
A lovely piece for a Cornishware collector or for re-use.
Standing just over 5 inches tall and 11 1/2 inches in diameter, including handles, or 125mm x 290mm.
UK shipping is included in the price. Collection from Derby is welcome.
