Manufactured by Lucas, England out of black Bakelite and Perspex for Lotus Motor Cars during the 1960s and 70s. Predominantly intended for use in the Lotus Elan series and Europa models, but can be retrofitted into many period steering wheel bosses. The chrome centre insignia bears the initials “ACBC” of the inspirational designer and founder of Lotus cars: Anthony Colin  Bruce Chapman. 

In superb original condition, showing a nice degree of ageing without damage or repairs to the surround or centre push section. The chrome lettering remains wonderful and clear. There is a little crazing in the clear Perspex, which is difficult to see and to be expected due to its age, only visible when held at certain angles in the light. There is also some very light pitting to the outer chrome circle but on the whole a stunning, genuine item that would look great back on a period vehicle. 

I have tested this horn push with a multi-meter and it shows signs that it should work as intended once put back to use. It still has its original metal securing cradle included in the sale.

This is a genuine Lucas horn push not a modern reproduction and is clearly marked “LUCAS” and carries the serial number:33637A 0872
