A wonderful vintage Butter Churn. Manufactured by Waide and Sons of Leeds, England. The “Victoria Number 2 end to end butter churn” was the flagship of their range and according to the publications at the time “a must have in the country house dairy kitchen”. Boasting a number of refinements which included cast iron rollers to reduce friction while spinning the barrel over and over, fold-out carry handles for portability and a glass viewing window to check on the contents progress.  

For many years this churn resided in a local farm museum where it had been sympathetically restored and exhibited. It is in wonderful condition with a sturdy pine frame, cast iron metal work painted a fetching shade of burgundy red, all lettering skillfully highlighted in gold paint. Fully restored a number of years ago and still showing a nice degree of original patina. All of the woodwork including the oak barrel is free from woodworm damage. This would make a wonderful shop display in a farm shop, dairy or ice cream parlor.
