A very stylish example of Maltese glass in the form of a Swan. The Mtarfa glass company of Malta has family connections with the world renowned manufactures Mdina and use the same free formed techniques to create their iconic designs.  

Probably made around the 1980s and signed “Mtarfa” to the base this beautiful Swan has survived in perfect undamaged condition. It has a clear glass upper with a stunning mottled white and green to the lower body. Cleverly, the design incorporates a recess in the base of the piece for small trinkets. The original factory label is still present. 

It stands to a height of 8 inches and has a width of 6 inches or 200 x 150mm
