A lovely little pewter pot of small proportions, with a hinged lid and flared foot. Clearly of age but has no makers/identification marks that I can see. It is difficult to date exactly, but it has to have had at least a hundred years of use, with lots of original patina. The lid still lifts as it should via the thumb lever. However, I would suggest that the spoon recess was added by hand after its manufacture. No repairs or major damage, but it has some dings, a flat area to the base, and small hairline splits internally near the hinge, but all are minor and add to the charm of this great little object, ideal as a desk tidy.
With the lid closed, it stands just under 4 inches/90mm tall and is 2 ½ inches/60mm in diameter.
UK shipping is included in the price. Collection from Derby is welcome.
