Purveyors of Curios, Collectables & Fine Tat

This large vintage potato fork still retains its original Hickory shaft with a pegged and dowelled handle. All of the curved tines are present, undamaged and retain their blunted ends. I acquired this interesting piece a number of years ago from a farm museum that was sadly closing down. It had seen plenty of use prior to being put on display. I've not used it since so is it still waxed and in a wonderful state of preservation ready for putting into a collection or used again for the purpose it was designed for. Sadly, I cannot find a maker's mark.

There is some debate as to whether this style of fork was used for harvesting potatoes or mucking out stables...the jury is still out.

This is a great old piece that is extremely tactile and a joy to hold. The shaft shows no damage, repairs, or evidence of woodworm. It is solid as a rock and ready for work.

Standing around 40 inches tall and 12 inches wide or 102cm x 31cm.
