This is a small Cornishware Blue and White cream jug bearing the green shield mark, which denotes that it was manufactured around the 1930s in the tiny village of Castle Gresley, Derbyshire. This lovely little piece has a conical body of great proportions and is in lovely condition: no cracks, significant damage, or repairs. There is just light rubbing to the glaze on the handle and chips to the pouring lip, which is common in these pieces and doesn’t detract from its charm. I have it sitting on a sunny windowsill, where it looks wonderful!
