Manufactured by J. Potts and Son of Sheffield, England, this great billhook has been on display in a local farm museum for many years where it was been cleaned, sharpened and made ready for use. A well designed tool that feels good in the hand and clearly made for the job, despite its age it has years of life left in it. The hardened steel blade has signs of light surface pitting and has been sealed with linsead oil to bring out a nice even patina. No repairs or woodworm in the original Hickory handle.
Simply a great piece of horticultural history.
It measures 15 inches in length and 4 1/2 inches at its widest point. Or 380 mm x 115mm.
