This is a nice late Georgian/early Victorian Pewter jug. It was probably used for measuring liquids, holding around 1/4 of a pint. Of lovely proportions with a large flowing looped handle, it has no makers or government asset marks that I can see. It does have an interesting period engraving to the lower body, probably of a previous owner's initials, reading “W M.” There are no splits, cracks, or repairs, but it has lots of lovely honest patina from years of use.
Standing only 2 3/4inches or 70mm in height, a great little item for decoration or re-use possibly as a desk tidy.
UK shipping is included in the price. Collection from Derby is welcome.
