Purveyors of Curios, Collectables & Fine Tat

19th Century Continental Oak Carving of a Cherub. This is a charming, delicately carved Oak piece dating from around 1870. Its colour has mellowed with age and taken on a wonderful nutty tone. It is in great condition, free from woodworm and water damage. Thankfully, it has never been varnished, so the colour is natural. I believe the wings would have originally extended further on the left lower side.

An expert craftsman undoubtedly carved this piece, as the Cherub's face has been captured beautifully. Due to its small size and the quality of the workmanship, it displays really nicely. Two small hooks are fitted to the rear to hang it.

Measuring: 6 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches or 170 x 140mm across its widest points.

UK mainland shipping is included in the price. A discount is offered for collection from our Derby warehouse.
