An early cast iron General Post Office 7 pounds scale weight. Interestingly bearing the early font military cypher or crows foot emblem denoting its official capacity. Research suggests that they were produced between 1850 and 1890. This one is in amazing condition; as the pictures show, it has been lightly cleaned and given a protective coating of wax, which enhances the metal's patina nicely.

I really like this little piece; it has lovely proportions and is extremely tactile. 

As it is of small proportions and reasonably heavy it will make a wonderful door stop.

Measuring around 3 inches square or 75mm at the base. 6inches or 160mm in height with the handle lifted.
