A Beautiful Georgian Pot inkwell. Made of dark brown stoneware clay and embossed with beautiful floral trailing swags, it has a raised border top and bottom and a lovely squat form that presents a robust statement when on display. A characterful addition to any collection, it has many chips and knocks, but it is still uncracked and complete, which demonstrates the skill of the manufacturers, who remain unknown as I can see no evidence of a creator. It still holds liquid without leaks.

The well still has a warm sheen and lustre and is ready for display or reuse as an inkwell. It is a lovely item from my collection.
